Amazon UK took center stage for their 2024 Upfronts showcase, delivering an exclusive keynote spectacle that bridged the gap between high-end technical production and immersive brand storytelling. Beyond Real led the live technical production, transforming a high-pressure, quick-turnaround brief into a world-class experiential event.
The Technical Execution
With a pre-production window of only one month, our teams hit the ground running to design a seamless broadcast and live environment. We collaborated with production partners to make use of a massive 10m x 3m LED wall, flanked by side-wing LEDs to extend the backdrop and display dynamic live graphics. These really lifted the impact of visuals for all to enjoy. We deployed a premium world-class sound system, featuring immersive surround sound elements, to ensure the A-list keynote and premium content play outs felt intimate yet cinematic. A full multi-camera live broadcast was directed on-site and streamed directly to AWS cloud servers, delivering the showcase to a global audience on Amazon in real-time.
A Star-Studded Showcase
Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon MGM Studios, led a presentation featuring a "who's who" of global talent. The stage saw appearances by Idris Elba, Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, Viola Davis, Orlando Bloom, and Simone Ashley to announce upcoming Originals like Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock.
The sports segment brought legends Gabby Logan, Clarence Seedorf, and Frank Lampard to the stage to discuss the future of UEFA Champions League coverage on Prime. The evening reached its crescendo with a standout concert performance by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, accompanied by Richard Jones.
